What Dax Does for the Team

Dax keeps the planes flying and keeps us laughing. As the operations manager, Dax handles logistics and operations for Greg Poe Airshows both on the road and at home in Boise, Idaho. He also ensures that the Fagen MX-2 is filled with ethanol for every performance. 

As the number one mechanic, Dax keeps the planes in top condition for optimum performance. He flies the Bonanza or Fagen MX-2 to show sites, assisting Greg in positioning the planes for appearances across the nation.  Dax is the deep voiced announcer at air shows guiding air show fans through Greg Poe’s original maneuvers and aerobatic marvels.

 Dax’s Professional Background:

Dax is an A&P and IA licensed mechanic.  He worked in Middleton, Wisconsin at Morey Airport as an aircraft mechanic for 15 years.  During that time, he acquired his pilot’s license and has flown 26 different aircraft in the past 16 years.  Dax worked with airshow performer, Jeff Mawhinney as his aircraft mechanic in 2006, and became a member of the Greg Poe Airshow team in November 2006 to support Fagen, Inc. and the magic of flying on ethanol.

In his free time (at least 10 hours per year) Dax loves snowboarding and working out.  In 1999 he began competitive body building, competing through 2005 at the national level.  During that time, Dax competed internationally winning 1st in class in Barbados and 4th in class in New York City.
